Need to get wife temporary phone

Hi,

Wife's Verizon contracted phone died and I'm planning on moving both of us to Cingular once they offer the Blackberry Pearl :-) .

where can I buy an inexpensive phone that Verizon's sysems will accept that she can use for the next couple of months or so?

I havent a clue so would appreciate vendors and/or models to consider.

As far as I know you can only get Verizon phones for Verizon since they are on CDMA. There may be third party vendors that sell Verizon phones but if you are just looking to get a cheapo substitute until you ride out your contract and assuming you don't have an equipment replacement plan, I suggest contacting Verizon customer service and say you need an inexpensive relacement.

P.S. the pearl is the coolest blackberry ever...
