Need tips on going from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3

Hello,
All the threads I see are to restore back.
I want to upgrade from 3.1.2 jb phone to 3.1.3 and not go to 4.0 at this time.


I have a -
3gs - one of the original models... assume it is non -tethered
3.1.2 FW
5.11.07 baseband
ATT Carrier

Do I need to use the cydia shsh thing with host file change or can I just get the phone in retore or dfu mode (which one??) and then select the fw when I use itunes to restore (hold the shift while clicking restore so the select fields appear)

Once I have the phone clean and back working I plan to use Spirit to JB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Step 1: download your firmware (3.1.3) from here
All Apple Firmwares (iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download) - Covering Web
Step 2: Download iTunes 9.2
Step 3: connect your device and it must be detected by iTunes
Step 4: Hold on Shift + Click on Restore in itunes and select your firmware
Step 5: let itunes do some upgrades then it will be done
Step 6: Jailbreak using spirit

Step 7: Unlock using Ultrasn0w

All are good but wait something very important is missing apple stop signing 3.1.3 firmware right only 4.0 now, where is the part when you need to save your shsh first to cydia?
Here's how search this forum on how to save shsh in cydia, next since you know that there's a post on how to downgrade, same procedure as upgrade. DO some leg work used the search function.Good Luck
