For the last couple of years, I have had breathing problems. When I went to the allergist for allergies he tested my lungs too, because I told him I was having breathing trouble and that I needed to use my inhaler many times throughout the day, but yet no one has classified me as having asthma. So we did the test and I tested 105%. So my lungs are good. However, I still have trouble breathing. So he put me on this acid reflux medicine for two weeks, thinking that the acid could be causing my breathing problems. Well, that did not work, I still needed my inhaler acouple times aday. Then he suggested I have sleep apnea or its my adniods. He refered me to a sleep apnea clinic, during this time I tryed to tell him that with my family history and the symptoms of having bad adniods that, that is what is wrong. He still insisted that I do the sleep study. When I went to talk to the sleep doctor I asked her why do I have breathing problems during the day, if it is sleep apnea. she told me that I shouldn't have breathing problems during the day if it is sleep apnea. So I did the test, even though I didn't want to, and it showed that I almost stoped breathing 20 times, so apparently I have sleep apnea. then they scheduled me to have another test with a cpap machine, well I felt that it didnt really help, the next day I still needed my inhaler several times. Now I am getting desperate, I truely believe that even though I might have sleep apnea, that is not the sole cause of my breathing problems. When I have trouble breathing it is not in my chest(my chest does not get tight) it is in my throat, like something is blocking my airway. Therefore, I am just curious if anyone has any insight that could help me figure out what is going on with me, I have been considering seeing a ENT, but I dont know of I should. I have been getting calls for ordering a cpap machine and I have been trying to put that off because I do not feel I need it. So if anyone can help me figure out what is wrong, before I do anything else, that would be greatly appricated...thanks!
