Need something Baller for Cingular

Well I'm on the hunt again for a phone thats totally baller. I would like to have a smartphone, due to being at college I need to do company email via IMAP if possible. I was looking at a blackberry but I really don't know what is so great about it from an individual users point of view. So I just need soemthing trendy , unique, and useable. Thanks,

prob with the 3125 is no keyboard...i think that will be an issue.. and i about **** a brick @ 40 bux for a data plan on cing...damn thats so #$# much.. i think a bb plan is 35...idk what the hell to do...bla
 
actually, the data plan for smartphones is only 20 for unlimited, 40 for PPCs. I feel ya on wanting a qwerty keyboard, but the only qwerty phones cingular sells right are all outdated at this point, and either have their replacement on the market, or their replacement is coming soon to Cingular.
 
I played around with a d307 today and liked it. It's not a smart phone but I think it has email and i know it has a QWERTY. I don't know much about smart phones though. The closest I have come to a smart phone is a 6682.
