I'm 19 and just graduated highschool and since i was about 10 I've wanted to be a cop. I'm pretty sure thats the route im going to take but not sure how to get there. I could go into the academy but the hire rate is higher if i go into the military. My dad was a marine and told me that i should try the military because it looks better which makes sense and its perfect because they wont hire you unless your 21 so by the time i get out ill be ready for hire. If any cop on here thats done what im thinking about doing, can you shed some light on this just so i get an idea what im doing and getting into. Also i want to move to boston or a city suburb and was curious about the crime rate over there. if a cop from boston could let me know, that'd be appreciated
