I have a 1995 Honda Civic with about 225K miles on it. I was having problems braking (the brake pedal felt "mushy" and I'd have to push really hard on it) so I took it into a Les Schwab Tire Center for a brake inspection (I had a coupon for a free inspection). They said there was nothing wrong with the brakes themselves but that the master cylinder needed to be replaced and that's why I was having problems with the brake pedal fading to the floor. They gave me a quote of $180 (parts and labor) vs. $380 at the Honda dealership. WHICH WOULD YOU GO WITH? Should it matter whether or not I get a Honda-manufactured master cylinder? If it makes any difference to your answer, I'd like to keep the car as long as possible. Thanks for your help!

id go back with the original parts on a honda because they seem to last longer than after market ones do,and come with a better guarantee, its your choice and the price will be a lot cheaper on an aftermarket than the original part, but you may get problems from an after market part that you wouldn't normally get from an original part, good luck.
