Need Palm Replacement

I have been an avid Palm user for the past 12 years. But, alas, I am now forced to leave the shrinking Palm community in favor of devices for which vendors still write and support quality software. I got my third message of the year that one of my Palm application vendors will no longer be supporting this platform. Additionally, my recent upgrade from the beta Desktop 6.2 (only compatible solution for Vista at the time I got my PC) to the release version of 6.2 proved DISASTROUS. The upgrade DELETED every single conduit for third party applications WITHOUT any warning (Palm's response: "Yeah it does that. Nothing you can do.") Rather than searching through old drawers for original application CD's to reinstall all of these applications (some of them were homegrown or proprietary apps that are no longer produced), I've decided to just take the plunge and get a Windows Mobile device. I may detest the big M$ but at least I know they aren't going to up and disappear anytime soon.

Anyway, I'd like some help choosing a new unit. I don't need a a built in phone - not going to spend the $40 per month for a data plan anytime soon. I'd like something similar in size to the Palm T|X - Screen Size is the most important factor. I deal with large spreadsheets so a large screen with landscape mode is a must (another reason I don't want a phone/PDA combo). The unit needs wiFi & bluetooth as well.

If anyone could pose any suggestions from their own experience, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

What's wrong with using an ol' palm? u should be able to find what you need in older software. What software specifically are you looking for?

if u must use an older ver. of the software have u tried contacting the vendor for an older version?
