Need more knowledge for my 1982 Yamaha xj550.?

Some of you have sorta been seeing me through my first road bike here, a 1982 yamaha xj550. Well, I have it running and in a 2 week peiod of time have put almost 1,000 miles on it. I love it and ride it any chance I get.
My question... well its a 2 part deal here...

First, I want to fix it up, so need a good site where I can find aftermarket and replacement parts for it. Want to get a 4-into-1 exhaust, spoke rims, new gas tank, new and better seat and sissy bar, herd shell saddle bags if possible, better lighting, etc... Any suggestions on where I can find this stuff?

Also, I want to put a cold-air-intake on it. Actually want to make something that will stretch from the front of the bike low and about to where the front of the frame is, and have a straight tube that runs along where my left side exhaust sits now, up into the air box. I was actually thinking of making a cone kind of contraption to catch more air but also make like a cut off valve for when if rains... i would have like a secondary vent i could open closer to the air box. Does this sound like a good idea? Would it be bad for the bike, and would it actually make a difference?
Oh, and for those who need a memory refresher... The air box opening is on the left of the bike, right under the seat with not much room. I would be modifying the airbox for the air tubing... (using chromed aluminum). there is a 2 into 1 exhaust pipe/muffler on each side of the bike. Installing the 4 into 1 will give me the room on the left side to run the intake tube.
