Im looking to buy a second hand ''2001 SKODA FABIA'' it looks great and it has 6 months tax left and and it will go through a MOT and is something needs fixed it will be before i buy it for £1495. However i was speaking to the sales person and the car sounds abit ratterly and the person said that its the timeing chain however it is fine. What i want to know is, how much would a new one cost? does the ratterling mean anything bad? and any other information would be greatly appreciated!

PLEASE HELP AS I NEED TO KNOW TO PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN ASAP!
 
Take it to a mechanic and have him go through the car before you put any money down on it, he will let you know what it will need and then you can decide if it a good deal or not. You don't want to buy it and find out that it will need a repair you can't afford.
