Need increase in methadone treatment

Hi,
I don't know where to start so I'm just gonna jump in head first!!!
I had a back injury about nine years ago.My doc of course put me on lortab and somas. About 3 years ago I noticed it was getting way out of hand. The 180 and 120 of each he prescribed were literally gone in a week. And it just got worse. Anyway I started methadone treatment a month ago. I am currently on 50 mgs and have been for a week and a half. But it's not doing me any good. All I think about is getting pills, CONSTANTLY!!!!! BUT I feel ashamed to ask for an increase. How should I go about asking the doctor!?!?!? If anyone could give me some advise I would be extremely grateful. Thank any and all for taking the time to read and or respond.

PS I was taking aroud 40-50 lortab a day until I started treatment
 
Helloo cesraam,

I would be completely honest with my doctor and tell him/her about the cravings.

Methadone is supposed to stop/reduce the cravings, so you obviously are not on a high enough dose.

It's important to always be honest with your doctor, so he/she can give you the best care, as every addict is different.

I appreciate the fact that u took time out of your day to reach out and help in anyway you could. I guess the reason I'm hesitating is because I haven't been on the program all that long. And as an addict there is that shame that haunts me. I hate being looked at as junkie looking for her next fix. I NEVER thought I would be in this boat. And all because of an accident that happened 9 years ago
I feel like I've lost control of so many aspects of my life. Well I guess I'll just have to suck it up and do what neeRAB to be done. any worRAB of encouragment or advise would be helpful.
