Need Help with super smash bros brawl game on Wii?

i need help with the game super smash bros brawl the level i need Help on is RESEARCH FACILITY at the start as zero suit sumas the problem is that wen i get 2 the elevator i kill the robbot the the elevator doesn't go up i try to jump up there but i just fall down then the robbots attack me so i kill them then i go on the elevator then it just goes up back 2 the normal level then i can't do any thing so i have 2 quit the level could any 1 help me plz leave a message/answer
