I just acquired a yamaha riva, i believe its an earlyt eighties model, possibly 1983 to be exact.
In any case, the battery is dead and so ive been trying to charge it with a batery charger set to 6 volts, its been going for about 12 hours now but im still able to do no more than sound the horn, and the rear light and trun signals turn on very faint. Just wondering if there were any tricks to this, or if maybe the battery is just dead, or if 12 hours just isnt long enough...etc.
ALSO, i had just noticed that there is no neutral switch that i can find!! Its an automatic, but how would you start it without being able to put it in neutral??
Im pretty mechanically inclined with most things, but this is my first experiance with any kind of motor bike, so any help is much appreciated. Thanks!!
