Ok i have a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer V8 5.0 with 143,000 miles on it. I replaced the following that could be the problem new spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, 2 new iginition coils, alternator and battery.
Issue- Sometimes when i go to start my truck it will crank and sometimes stumble during cranking and then start or start and stall out. Sometimes it might take me 2 or 3 tries to get tit started. If it stalls i wait a minute try again and the truck starts right up. Once it starts it runs fine no issues. Once it's running it runs like a dream what the hell could it be? The fuel pump is original but i didn't think it was that since it runs fine once it starts. Anybody got any advice?
I forgot to mention also that when the engine is hot at normal operating temperature and if i shut the truck off and run inside a store or something and come back out to start the truck this is when it does this stumbling during cranking and sometimes might not start right up but it will eventually start though.
