Need help with my Nokia e71x cell phone?

I just bought a used Nokia e71x cell phone online, and I would like to be able to use the phones lock option but whoever previously owned this cell phone already had a lock code and I have no idea what it is...
is there a way I can reset it?
there is no way of contacting the previous owner so I don't know what I should do...
