ok my ford f-150 which is a 1991 straight 6 300Ci, will not start its ran perfect for years never really having much trouble but recently it just wont start, ive tried replacing the air bypass, oxygen censor but none of it has prevailed, has any one experienced this or know a Solution other then taking it to the ford manufacture.

i also have another 1991 ford f-150 302Ci 4x4 +cab , which will start and run but it can not go over 30mph or it will choke out that i have alsotry edd replacing oxygen censor , air bypass and the throttle body but it still wont work right so i cant drive it any where, if any one can be of any help for either of these id highly appreciate it.

Check the starting system on the straight 6. Remove the battery and bring it to autozone. They will test it for you for free. If it tests good, then remove the starter motor. They will test it for free too. Ifit is good then replace the starter solonoid. and make sure all the cable connections are clean and tight. If the engine still won't start, check the distrubutor rotor and cap, plugs, plug wires and ignition coil. One thing that a lot of people are not aware of is the Thick Film Ignition Module also known as the TFI Module. It is bolted on the shaft of the distributor and has a wire harness connected to it. This module overheats and gets worn after a few years and commonly goes bad on Ford vehicles between 1987 and 1996.

As far as the F150 with the 302, the catalytic converter or the fuel filter is clogged. Another reason may be the EGR valve. This is basically a bypass that won't allow air to go where it is needed if it is stuck open. Again, check the distrubutor cap and rotor, plugs and wires.
