I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute that for a little while now wont lock the rear hatch. I have read multiple things, about this and i'm fairly convinced it is the lock actuator. However, the only thing that throws me off is that when i stick the key into the rear hatch, and i try to turn it to the left (lock) it will not turn, but it does turn to the right (unlock) and even unlocks all of the other doors if you do it twice (nifty little foreign car invention). I would just like to get some input on the locking problem before i go to rip out the paneling to replace the actuator.
