My boyfriend was bonded out of jail. He spent a few months out hearing nothing. Then, in a paper it said he had been indicted. Then after that someone called saying he had an arraignment this Friday. My question is this. A. Wasnt there supposed to be something before the arraignment and indictment that he should have went to? B. After the arraignment what will happen?
One small thing, thought you dont even have to answer this but, he was technically "guilty by association" so, does this mean anything good or bad??

The Grand Jury met and heard the evidence and decided to Charge him. Charges are either filed through "Information" via the State or via "True Bill" from the Grand Jury. It appears as though Charges were filed against him with a True Bill. Now he will go to his Arraignment where formal charges will be read and he will have the opportunity to give his Plea (Guilty, Not Guilty or No Contest) and he will also have the opportunity to hire a lawyer. If he can prove that he's indigent, then the State has to provide him with a Public Defender. If he Pleads Guilty or No Contest, he can be sentenced right then or the court can set a date for sentencing. If he pleads Not Guilty, the court will set a date for Trial.
