need help with homecoming dance?

Just be honest. It's easier to say "Oh, I've found someone to go with. I'm sorry- I was quite looking forward to going with you." rather than going with someone you don't like and leading them on to think that you might like them.
Get one of your friends to ask the girl to the dance, if you want to be extra nice.
 
make it short: i got picked to represent freshman class and i had to find someone to go to dance with. one of the teachers said if i dont find anyone i have to go with her daughter. lame eh? i have no problem finding anyone except i was going to ask this girl i wanted to since day 1 but i thought she was already goin wit someone. so a girl walked up to me( i dont even like her more than a friend) and said she'll go with me if i cant find anyone and i said sure. so my friend asked the girl (the one i do like) if she wants to go with me, not knowing i was going with someone else but i really want to go with the one i do like. anyone have any tips on how to go about this nicely
if you're wondering how im on here so early because of school, we had a scheduled delay start today.
 
TELL THE TRUTH! if you go with her you might lead her to think that you like her and things could get messy.. and you'll never know what could of been between you and your crush.
 
I have to agree with Starry. It's better to tell the truth and be honest about things then to lie and have them find out from someone else!

The truth just be like uhm sorry I cant go with you ( the girl u dnt like) just explain thats its nothing personal you would just rather go with your crush. Good luck i hope u get it out nicely and dnt sound harsh!
