Need help with history!!?

In 1758 the British captured fort duquesne and renamed it fort Pitt. Is this true or false?? And if it's false what would make it true??? Please help me!!
 
well, in 1758 the french burned the original fort. the english rebuilt it and renamed it Fort Pitt. hope i helped at least a little? check out the link (:

It is mostly true except for one thing, the British built fort Pitt right next to Ft. Duquesne. So if you said that England took ft. Duquesne, and destroyed it, then made Ft. Pitt right near it. Don't know if thats what you needed, but thats how it happened.
