need help with feline (cat) short stories which were written by American authors..?

i need some short stories that has some sort of cats included in the story.. has to be written by American authors.. for example i got "the black cat" by E.A. Poe and "the cats of ulthar" by H.P. Lovecraft, any help appreciated, thank you.
p.s not kid's stories please
