I had an EMG a few weeks ago, and unfortunately I ran out of time at my Dr's office to fully discuss the results. I also had a CT Myelogram and that is what we mainly discussed. I have another apt in 2 weeks and will ask him to explain the results, but wanted to get your opinions on this:

Comment: EMG performed in the right lower extremity revealed muscle merabrance instability in the S1 distribution. Fibrilation potentials were 100-200 uV in amplitude suggesting a chronic duration of the condition. Motor unit action potential analysis was normal in all motor units examined. Nerve conduction studies were normal for both motor and sensory neves as listed above. Diffuse paraspinal findings are consistent with past lurabar sugery.

Impression: 1) Chronic right S1 radiculopathy based on the above EMG findings. Diffuse paraspinal findings are consistent with a past lurabar surgery. These are typical post-operative findings and do not imply an acute nerve root injury. Fibrilation potentials were small in amplitude which is suggestive of a chronic nerve root injury. 2) No evidence of a focal right peroneal or tibial neuropahy, peripheral neuropathy, or myopahty.

Thanks!
