Hi, I'm currently in grade 12, I am doing a debate on how hunting should be a legal or illegal sport, We must do it on how the government is affected by hunting (money, laws, tax's). I am unfortunately going on the opposite side. My side is that I do not agree that hunting should not be legal. I know it is stupid. The guy that I am going against is using the arguments like I feel the animal would rather be killed by a hunter, then rather then eaten alive, or starved to death. He is also going on that is keeps the number of animals in a forest balanced, and how it helps the government. Im going on "if hunters keep hunting, you will drive the animals away form there natural habitat, and they could be moving closer to roads, thus creating hazards for our roads. Also, how the government pays so many officers to patrol the forests from poachers. Please I do not know much about hunting, and could use some good advice ! (I'm Rebuttal)

if we didn't load the rural areas up with hunters every fall, what would happen to alcohol sales? what would all those hunter's wives do if they couldn't get out of the house those couple weekends every year? who would find all those marijuana crops about to be harvested? the government makes plenty of money off hunters.

You are on the wrong side of the debate! I am going to assume that side was assigned to you however, and try to help you think of some valid points to make. I would suggest that you type in E.L.F. in your search engine of your computer, and see what valid points they have to offer. Or perhaps type in animal rights activists. Man is a predator, we hunt for food, it is in our nature! Perhaps you could bring up hunting accidents, such as the one Viced president Dick Cheny had a few years back when he accidently shot the gentleman he was hunting with. Also, you may want to bring up how criminals sometimes break into hunters homes and steal their weapons and use them to commit crimes. Also, I suppose that you could bring up how children of irresponsible hunters can sometimes get a hold of their parents weapons, and have been known to take them to school with them, (school shootings) Good luck, you are on the wrong side though. Hunting is natural, and right, and our right to bear arms must be protected at all costs, if guns were made illegal, then only 2 types of people would carry them, criminals, and police, and police corruption runs deep within the history of our country.
