Need help with Cold War?

Was the cold war an inevitable event, or could it have been avoided? How? And, who do you think is responsible for the Cold War, the U.S., the Soviet Union, or both? Why?
Please help me :]
 
If Patton were allowed to push all the way into Russia, and if the Rosenbergs had not stolen the secrets of the Atom Bomb, there would have been no cold war, just a little hot one.
