Need help with clothing?

I am a guy 18 years old.. I always like wearing dark colors... I wear black.. red... combine it sometimes... I wear dress shirts a lot.. I was thinking about getting a white one and a dark purple one to combine with my black pants.. but I don't know how to wear it.. buttoned up, open.. I need help.. thanks
