So, I have Tmo and live in "the sticks". I have great coverage pretty much where ever I go, but my house. I have been relying on the UMA feature to make and receive calls at my house as I don't have a land line. Problem is that my old BB 8900 has bit the dust, and ALL of Tmos current phones with WiFi require a data plan. While the ability to check email and browse the web is nice, I have a pc pretty much everywhere I go for that. I will not pay for a data plan I won't use. I just want to be able to use UMA. I have been looking at unlocked phones, but there are so many, that it is hard to decide. Here is what I am looking for
I Must have: the ability to connect to WiFi for calls
I Would Strongly prefer: a full QWERTY keyboard, a nice resolution screen, an organizer/calendar (something similar to BB date book would be awesome)
I have looked at a couple of "find your phone" tools, but haven't had a lot of luck. I am also looking for something fairly affordable as I am going to have to buy several of them as our current line of BBs are all going down hill fast (mine was just first to the finish line ). So in the neighborhood of $200 would be good, with less being great.
Also wondering what kind of issues might show up with unlocked phones. I have never used them before, but I have read about them not functioning on certain networks, or not all the phones features functioning (such as MMS). Thanks so much for any help or advice you can give.
