I'm a 17 Year old Male and have faced Shortness of breath for the past 5-8 months and Ive been the doctor, had blood tests, pulmonary function test, chest x-ray and electrocardiogram. Ive recently been to the psychologist because the Pulmonary expert said it was probably anxiety, The Psychologist gave me some Lexapro which didn't seem to help after a month of Use. I don't feel like im anxious person So im thinking there could be other reasons. Can anyone help its really killing me!

There are a lot of possible causes of shortness of breath.

Can you describe how your chest feels when you are short of breath? When does it happen? How often, and for how long? Are you able to exercise or do physically demanding things? Does anything in particular seem to set it off, or is it just there all the time?

My Chest feels ok Usually but sometimes I get funny pains on my side when inhaling in the rib area? Its happening 24/7 mostly every 2/3 of my breaths. I am able to exercise a little with, nothing particular seems to set it off.

I have one suggestion...

It can take up to 6-8 weeks for some people to reach the therapeutic dosage of your medication. I would give it some more time to see if it might work before giving up on it.

They were good. I am thinking of re running them all and allergy tests and others to make sure but I im not sure.

The specific medication I was taking the Doctor said took about a few weeks to work.

That is a good idea to think of allergies. I forgot about this being a problem for me breathing at times in the spring and summer. I would be fine inside, and start having problems when I went somewhere, because of the mold in the air. It would go away when I got back inside. Also, if you are looking for a free clinic for testing, you could do a google search to see if any are near you. You may be able to help yourself by looking back to when the breathing problems started. Since all your tests came out fine, it could be allergies, or maybe stress related with something changing in your life around that time. Since the meRAB did nothing for you, could you tell the doctor and try a different one in the meantime, untill you figure out whats causing this?

I am currently Trying NOW SAMe to see how that works. The thing is when you say nothing changed in my life during that time And i was never anxious and still don't feel as if I'm anxious. I will get tested for Allergies soon and maybe try an inhaler and report back. Also my dad has the same thing and has had it for 25 years and exactly the same thing as me.
