Need help here not sure what the problem might be. I have a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer V8 5.0 Automatic 144,044 miles. I had the truck for 2 years and the transmission was fine and truck was running good besides some repairs i done during the 2 years. I put the truck up for sale and someone came by and bought it. They took it for a test and everything was fine. They ended up putting some plates on the truck and drove it home. 3 hours later i get a call the truck broke down it won't go forward in any gears only reverse. The transmission fluid is full and no fluid is leaking. Obviously they were mad and wanted to return the truck. I wasn't really sure what to make of it since i never had any transmission problems i think it was just a consequence right at that moment after the sale. Well they returned truck on a flatbed and everything looked normal besides the transmission. I felt bad and I gave them there money back minus the money i needed to get now a new duplicate title because the original one was ruined.
What the hell could have caused this? It will move in reverse but does nothing in D, 2 or 1 only revs. I'm confused big time.
