Need help to play a MOV file on Windows Media Player with audio!!!?

I recently bought a digital camera that captures HD videos but the problem is that the file format it records it on is MOV. When i try to play the videos in Quicktime or VLC player they lag like if the recording was really bad. On the other hand when i open the files using Windows Media Player the videos look crystal clear HD as they should be but I'm unable to get audio because it says I'm missing a codec !! It is driving me crazy, can someone please tell me how to get the audio working too ? By the way the camera is a Canon Powershot SX 1 IS if that helps with the question......
