Need help starting my 1998 Suzuki GSXR 750 after being down for a year...?

Hi I have a 1998 Suzuki GSXR 750. It has been down for about a year. I heard that I could use Valveline Starter fluid if it is hard to start. Is this recomended? I dumped the old gas, changed the oil, filter, and replaced the battery. I have not tried to start it yet. Just wanted to get some insite on a prolonged start up.
