so, hear me out, my hubby and I have been together for 3 years. The first 6 months we were living with his family(he was still in school) as soon as he got out, we got out too. We had been on our own ever since. December of 2007 we moved into a 3bedroom, 2 bathroom house(renting) that is actually owned by my father, and uncle. June of 2008, my father and uncle wanted to sell the house, my husband had the CRAZY idea to have his family move in with us! Or at least have them put a mobile home in the backyard(backyard is huge!! 2 more houses could fit) Well I told him NO right away(nothing against his family but I was happy being on my own with hubby) so he let it go, however then my dad and uncle have that idea as well!! Well they ended up moving in beginning of July.
It is the parents, along with their 3 kids, a 16 month old girl, 8 year old boy, and 16 year old boy. From having the whole house, we had to take everything in our room(luckily its the master room) in the living room, it's all furniture from my mother in-law, her sofas, her TV, everything!! So, my hubby and i NEVER hang out in the living room since we have nothing of ours in there.
When they moved in i was pregnant for the 1st time(I had a miscarriage a month after) now I'm pregnant again(almost 5 months) and my mom tells me at times that I should at least clean in the kitchen, or the living room, but I feel like it's not my responsibility! Since, I just walk in the living room to go to my room, I'm never there for more than 1 minute! Plus, the 16 month old girl has all her toys thrown there. Then in the kitchen when I finish cooking, I do wash my plates, i clean the counter, but that's it, cause I don't make a mess. I feel like they pretty much own the house, and we're just renting one room.
What do you think? Should I at times mop the kitchen floor? Clean in the living room? Thanks.
Oh and I work Monday-Friday, and my mother in-law is a stay at home mom, so maybe it would be different if she worked but she doesn't.
