Alright, im looking for a new phone. I use cingular and im located in miami, florida.

Wants:
Touchscreen
Fairly small in size
850/1900mhz frequency capable
Preferably not extremely expensive, but all suggestions are welcome.

Although I can live with a phone that is JUST 1900mhz, I hear they don't work very well in south florida. I dont care for it to have wifi or any type of internet, I dont care for txting at all, or anything all that fancy. I just want to get into the touchscreen phones because they intrigue me. I would love for the phone to be completely touchscreen, but its not necessary. I was looking at the NEC n908 and the motorola a1200 ming. Im willing to wait another month or so if there is anything like what I want coming out in the near future. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what you consider small. My 8525 has a decent size, but some people consider it a bit bulky. Have you checked out the Motorola ROKR E6?...it looks really nice, I think I might get one to try it out. It also can be hacked to include GSM 850.

hey moto e6 is fairly nice, actually relatively cheap for a touchscreen. Theres also the SEm600i, lg shine SEp990i

hey peryus88 how can you hack the e6 to get 850 band??if theres a possiblilty this hack will work, might go buy one myself! thanks

AFAIK most Motorolas handsets are originally quad band. It's just that sometimes there are firmware restrictions to limit the bands use to a certain region. However, they can be "hacked". That's one great thing about Motos, highly customizable. Check out the mod section in the Motorola sub-forum.

thanks a lot for the input. I went ahead and ordered a Motorola ROKR E6 today, with 2nd day shipping it came out to $385 including an actual warranty from the company. I got it from Importgsm, I heard a lot of good things about them, so hopefully it works out well.

it was 385 with 2nd day air shipping. It was 359 without shipping. The reason I got it from there was because importgsm covers all the phones they sell with a free 1 yr warranty from them. So if there is an issue with motorola if something were to happen with the phone, importgsm will take care of it. I had no problem paying the extra money for that warranty, i think its essential with an unlocked phone.
