Need Help on choicesing a grooms cake?

So like most people planing a wedding there is a grooms cake. I need ideas. We are planing to have a winter theme but does it have to deal with the theme. Because I want it to be him not the theme. So is that right or wrong.

traditionally the groom's cake reflects the groom's interests or hobbies. Let him decide what he wants.

my uncle is a pilot and he had an airplane cake. My cousin plays drums and he had a drum set cake. My brother is a scifi geek and he had an alien space ship landing in area 51.

traditionally the groom's cake is served at the rehearsal dinner, but I've noticed that as it moves out of the south into other areas of the country it is served at the reception as an alternative flavor cake.

It's his cake, let him pick what design and flavor he wants and enjoy.

Congrats on your big day and good luck.

I think that you should do something he like or funny. I have seen someone make a car grooms cake that matched his favorite car.

The Groom's cake should reflect something personal about him.

Is he a member of a Fraternity or perhaps he has a favorite sport (Golf, Hockey, Basketball, etc)

Let the cake say something about him and be sure the cake his a flavor he will enjoy.

Best wishes

Let him pick. It is the groom's cake and it is traditional that he picks it. If he's in the military, it can have the seal. If he's into cars, it can be in the shape of a car or even just a picture drawn on a sheet cake. Let his personality or hobbies show here. I wouldn't worry if it doesn't go with your theme because most grooms cakes that I have seen don't anyways.

Its all him, dont let it go along w/ the theme. Ur right to want it to be about him. Thats what their intended for. Besides alot of guys think that its the one thing in the wedding that is 100 % him. Make it about something he loves. It will always be something he can look back on and love forever ... besides you of course!!!
