Need help inserting an image into a Word document for html?

Hi. I'm having too much trouble inserting an image into a Word document, then converting the page to html. I have tried copying and pasting the image, then loading the converted file onto the server. I have also tried uploading the jpg onto the server and tried entering the code to that jpg file, and no luck. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you so much.
Thanks for the help, but before I asked the question, I previously tried save-as and switched the file type to html, but nothing worked.
