Need help from YOU for a quick blood pressure and exercise experiment?

I don't have the money or the time to do this experiment myself, but i am dying to find out the answer. So, i am asking the "Yahoo Answers Community" for help.

The question is: how does vigorous weigh-bearing exercise affect blood pressure in the short term?

I am not sure if this exact question has been satisfactorily resolved yet... but if it HAS, i'd be very interested to read about the study which did so!!

Here's how we can find out together: 1) Find a blood pressure device - if you have your own, wunderbar, but most drug stores - even the ones in grocery stores and Walmarts - have one these days. 2) Find your RESTING blood pressure by sitting in the chair quietly for 5 minutes and taking it 3 times. The average will give you a "pre-exercise reading" or "baseline". 3) Do as many push-ups, chin-ups or reverse chin-ups as you can do ***without hurting yourself***. You should be pretty tired after this. 4) Go back to the same blood pressure device and take your blood pressure a) immediately, and then b) every 5 minutes for a half hour, sitting quietly all the while. If you take the average of 3 times for each measurement it will be more accurate, but if you don't want to be that finicky, that's fine also. 5) IF you can manage it, take your blood pressure after an hour and then after 2 hours, the same way you took your "resting blood pressure" in step 2.

Write down the results and send them in!! (along with your age, gender and general level of fitness....). I'll even do the averages for you if you don't feel like doing them yourself.

If we get a half dozen legitimate replies to this question, the experiment will be a success and we should have a clear answer to the question!! I know it's a fair amount to ask, but i hope that at least a few folks will want to find out about this enough to take the bull by the horns here :+).
