I was talking to a friend who has photoshop and they were telling me how to create something and they were running through the steps and they mentioned 2 things I wasn't aware of how to do if I could at all, One was a multiply tool and then there was something where the layer on top was transparent but in gimp whatever layer is on top is the dominant layer unless you cut around it and I was wondering if there was a way to make certain layers transparent so that all the filters and color tools used can flow together like in photoshop, Ive only been using gimp for almost a week and I don't know all the ins and outs so if anyone could help id appreciate it so so so so much!
