Need help for photography class?

The thing is I'm in Photography class, but I'm thinking of dropping out. I need to get a camera 35mm that has"manual capability" and all I've found are cameras over $100 I can't really afford (class is only one semester, plus, I already have a digital camera). My mom has been talking about disposable cameras, but for some reason I don't believe those are accepted.

Any way I can get an affordable camera of those?
