...microcassette recorder? I have to do a lot of transcription for my work (no, not medical transcription), and I'm really confused with the advice about equipment. I know that a foot pedal will slow down the speed of the recording and let me pause without starting and stopping again.
I found an Infinity USB Foot Pedal for PC Transcription IN-USB-2 at amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00149KX9Y/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A1TK8KNKRU7SE)
I have a headset that I can plug into my computer, and I'm planning to download Express Scribe for the software.
But I don't get how it will connect with the tapes from my microcassette recorder. Do I put the tape into the foot pedal part? How else would I connect it to my computer and the software? There is a plug-in for earphones on the recorder and DC in...is that where I would plug it to the foot pedal?
My recorder is about 15 years old, but it is still in good condition. I am fairly sure that I can still get microcassettes for it. (If I'm wrong, please tell me.)
Thank you! I'm asking friends and colleagues for help too, but my recorder is so old that most people aren't familiar with it.
