...College demographics, gender debate I have to write a paper for my Logic class. Topic: Maths and Sciences - The Gender Controversy. I'm arguing against the recent efforts to attract girls into a field in which they would not have originally had an interest in by luring them with scholarships. (btw, I'm a math/science person myself. only girl in my CAD class, a previous electronics class, etc; and this is the perspective that I hold) I'm all for equal opportunity - for the group as a whole, regardless of gender. But, what is being promoted currently is not advocating equality for all, but categorized equality. Both males and females should be viewed on the same playing field, and dealt with based upon their proficiency, abilities, knowledge, competence, etc; not requiring a specific number/percent of female so as not to be considered "sexist."
Sources pertaining to the following topics would be helpful (other ideas welcomed as well) (in order of importance):

(for list of topics, see additional information below)
-Information concerning the requirements regarding (males vs. females) placed upon employers, college admissions, scholarship committees, etc
-Psychological studies about the biological factors influencing the differences in male vs. female mental processes/cognition/gender roles/other relevant topics (need studies that will support my perspective, but seeing the opposing side would be helpful as well)
-Statistics with data/charts concerning male vs. female college scholarships per field
-The demographics of scholarship awards
-College/education demographics (male vs. female)
-Statistics concerning male vs. female per career
-Statistics concerning male vs. female job satisfaction by career
-Career demographics
-Any information concerning the Math/Science/Tech Gender Debate
-Another angle/perspective that I could use to support my argument
[I hate these character number limits!]

-Advice or suggestions concerning how to approach my argument (I already have an idea of what I am doing, but other ideas often prove to be helpful)
-Any other relevant statistics
-Any other relevant demographical information
-Any other information pertaining to my topic
-Counter-arguments to my argument
-Facts/information contradicting my argument

Note: If anyone who offers suggestions would be interested in my argument once finished, please let me know by contacting me at [email protected] and I will do my best to accommodate you as such.
