Im a college student and have to write a paper about a person or event in history that has many different perspectives, i have to also asses how the writers' culture, values, and assumptions influenced their perspectives, they also ask me to analyze how perspectives change over time. Does anyone have an idea of what would be a good historic event or person to do this on, that isnt a topic that would be extremely popular, but at the same time not too hard to write and find research on.

Try Nellie Bly, real name Elizabeth Cochran. She was a daredevil, investigative reporter, feminist, industrialist, author and charity worker.
She once faked insanity to get inside a mental hospital to investigate reports of brutality and abuse, and then wrote an expose about it.
She attempted to beat Jules Vernes story "Around the World in 80 Days", she did it in 72 days.

She was a very interesting women, in 1904 she invented and patented the "steel barrel", which was the model for the 55 gallon oil drums still in use today.
All very uncommon things for a woman to do around the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
