I have been planning to build my own gaming desktop for several years now, but never really stuck with it. I am currently using an old Dell Dimension 4700 (5+ years ago), and since I'm going onto college in 1-2 years, I figured I should get a laptop rather than a desktop that's capable of running some old games at decent - above average FPS and also allow me to run some heavy memory programs such as Photoshop or Sony Vegas without all the tremendous lag and delay I get with my current computer.
As stated in the title, my budget is more or less $500. The games I play are mainly
-World of Warcraft
-Counter-Strike Source
-Minecraft
I'm not really interested in running any top heavy gaming rig required games such as Left 4 Dead, Crysis, Modern Warfare, etc.. but I do hope on achieving at least maybe medium graphics of the 3 games listed above, with minimum lag spikes.
I really hope on achieving max FPS (60) on WoW, which is the main game that I play, but wouldn't mind sacrificing any graphic details , just not to the lowest settings that I currently am using at the moment.
I don't really have much knowledge about laptops in general and was completely unsure of what to do after researching for several hours. I am sick of having to set all my settings to low and close every program while playing a game at a bare 20-30 fps.If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions for a gaming laptop in my budget range and also fits the expectations, please feel free to post. Thank you
