Need HD Television help for PS3!!!!?

I've just recently purchased a HD AOC Flatscreen little 22". And I've found it very great quality and good picture while playing Call of Duty Black Ops. But I've noticed while playing Black Ops everything just seems slower? Like when I turn my gun it seems to sway instead of turn? Is that how the new HD televisions run? It just doesn't feel like my old T.V did, when I turned my gun on my older T.V it would be very fast and right to the enemy? I've bought an HDMI cable and got all entire setup for my PS3 so my question is can I tune the settings or tweak something to reduce the lag and make the aiming quicker and faster like on my old T.V or am I shit out of luck? =/
