Need first-time plasma TV buying advice: 58" Samsung (PN58B550) or 58" Panasonic...

...(TC-P58S1)? I'm considering both of these 58 inch plasma TVs - I know that they're both at the lower end of their respective model lines, but the sale prices on both of these look pretty good right now - less than $1600. I do like a big screen but I'm not exactly a videophile (I hate to admit it but honestly I have a hard time seeing the difference between a $3000 TV and a $1600 one). Mostly I play a lot of videogames and watching movies...any suggestions would be appreciated!
 
I am like you pretty much, I just want a tv.

Well my husband is an avid xbox gamer. When we bought our 60" tv, we looked forever! I know that he said the higher the HZ the better for viewing sporting events and the gaming.

Both of the above tv's have 600HZ

At Bestbuy.com both of these tv's score high on the 5 star scale. I would go for which ever one is cheaper out the door.

Also try your local sears repair store. They have tv's that are at a huge discounted price. Also you can buy their extended warranty for a decent price.
