i just bought a 1981 kawasaki kx 500 frame for 40 dollars, and a 1990 kx 250 motor for 25 dollars what if any frame mods would i need to do to get the kx250 motor onto the frame?
I believe the 1981 would be air cooled whereas the later engine is water cooled.As already suggested, try the engine in the frame and take it from there.Work from correct chain alignment as a starting point.
You would definitely have to do some welding. If it was a 'rolling frame' (tires, seat, handle bars, gas tank) I would try to find a KX 500 motor to put in there.
