Need answers ASAP please!!

So here it is, I just had a discectomy and lamonectomy on June 3rd as most of you know. About 2 weeks after the surgery my incision opened up just a little bit at the bottom. Now it just wont close. I did go and see a doc at the medicentre and he said just to leave it alone and let the air get to it. I did just that and lets just say it hasn't helped at all. I don't think it is infected, if it is it just happened. I am worried that with how hot it is here in British Colurabia right now and with how much i am sweating I may get a secondary infection with it being opened like that.
Anyhow, here is my question... what can the doctors do to close it now with it almost being a month post-op? Any suggestions?

I would call the surgeon and let his office know what's happened. It might need a few stitches, or maybe a butterfly bandage. If it's actually open, that doesn't sound like something to ignore.

I hope you're doing well otherwise. Is your pain under control?

Please don't mess around with this - an infected incision in the spinal cord is nothing to ignore. I am lifting you up in prayer and please keep us posted.
 
hmmmm, call your Dr he will want to see you.
I got a staff infection after mine opned up and had an IV drip for five months with a pic line. Not fun at all.

I know it may be hard for you to see the incision well - but does the incision seem "wet" (like inside tissues are visible) or is it an open spot that seems more sealed. If it beginning to seal it will do so on it's own.

I would for sure go see your doctor. an open wound is not a good one especially one that has been open for that long. For what your doctor could do, after they look at it would either stitch it up, or they would have to reopen and clean anything if there any problems. Does it bother you in any way? Does it hurt at all or is it that it is just an open wound?
