Need advise how to install index.html page?

i need your assistance to install index.html page on a website.all the pages been uploaded via ftp but need to know how to install index.html.thanks in Advance
 
once its in the directory you want thats all you need to do.
you might have put it in a directory your not in so you dont see anything
if its your main website ex home page
make sure it is in your root directory
like mywebsite.com/ <--that is your root
mywebsite.com/website/ <-- this is a sub-directory
