hello
i have been married for 2 years...i come from an extremely loving and giving family...my husband however doesn't.
myself and my husband have good jobs are more than capable of taking care of ourselves...HOWEVER my parents love to buy us house gifts....plane tickets every now and again and nice xmas/birthday presents....the problem is my husbands parents don't offer anything at all....money is not the issue....they never come and visit us..whereas my parents come and stay with us for 5 weeks every summer .....thing is it can be a strain..sometimes i resent that my parents do so much and his doesn't.....i know he feels guilty too at times. Whats worse is we have nothing in common...i come from a young open minded family...he comes from a very religious...sheltered family.
We sent his older brothers..parents..grandparents...nieces and nephews really nice gifts this xmas...my parents have sent a bunch of lovely gifts and they live over sea..his parents have sent us nothing...and its not that presents are all that matters but it would be nice at times to feel like they make an effort.
I invited them to come spend xmas with us and his mom said no dad doesn't want to come...full stop.
Thing that annoys me is that they are sooo religious and just set in their ways...but they don't put family first....its hard.
