i'm looking for a pistol, primarily for range/target practice leading to a home defense weapon. there are a couple firing ranges around here that i plan on going to but was just wondering what brands/models to look for (or look to avoid). hopefully in the $350-$400 range, so i know it's not going to be anything fancy, i just want something dependable that i can handle. i've fired my sister-in-laws 9mm glock (she's a sheriff's deputy) and my friend's 9mm baretta and .357 s&w revolver. i'm really not up to date on makes & mfgrs so any advice would be appreciated. a good used weapon would also be fine, i just don't know what to look for.
