Need advice on first cellphone

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help recommend me some new phones. My parents will be heading to Beijing very soon and I would like them to bring me back a new phone. I'd like to get a newer model phone if possible. If someone could fit my criteria to a certain extent, it'd be grateful.

Expandable memory
Preferably 2 mp camera or greater
MP3 player
price range: maximum $500 cad

note: the phone would be used under Rogers network

Do they know their way around BJ? Or are they 'tourists'? If they don't know people 'in the know', they're just going to get scammed.

As for phones. my top choice these days are the Motorola Ming. Only drawback i can find is that it's 'stylus only'.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Just to clarify ur questions. Yes, they know their way around Beijing and will probably be able to bargain for the prices. As long as I give them the price range of the phone that i want then it shouldn't be a problem with them getting scammed. Hopefully that is...
 
Well, when in China. Be very careful.
Bargaining is one thing. Getting product that's not going to fall apart in your grubby hands is another =)~

I still think the "Ming" is a great choice. Again. stylus only tho.

i really don't know about Nokias anymore. I used to be a Nokia fan. But their product isn't really innovative these days. just rehashing the same stuff under a different skin. Dunno...maybe it's just me.
