Need advice on effexor

I was recently prescribed effexor due to some recent anxiety attacks. I am under major stress, and going through menopause, and I'm having a hard time coping. I have never taken any drugs like this before, in fact, I have the pills, but I'm not sure I'm going to start them. I'm afraid. I'd like to get some advice from people who have actually taken them. I have a 75 mg dose, I know that's not very strong, but I really don't know what to do. Help please.
 
I agree, Effexor is not a drug to play with. If you aren't sure you will take it religiously it could be worse than no med at all.
