Put new aftermarket timing kit on 98 Corolla.It ran great for a few days untill it started over heating and then it shut down. The exhaust cam sprocket broke loose from and stopped turning the cam, There was a small 2" piece of engine block casting that broke off located 1/4" from crank sprocket right by the chain. The only thing I can think of is bad aftermarket parts or when I went top dead center to start timing initially I mistakenly did not make sure it was on the compression stroke with a guage.
Need advice for Toyota timing issue.?
